Celestron 90 Degree Star Diagonal Review

This 90 degree adapter is perfect for situations where the angle of your telescope prevents comfortable viewing.  

When viewing M13 (The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules) early on a midsummer evening, we found it difficult to maintain a comfortable viewing angle because the cluster was almost directly overhead.  Rather than wait until the constellation begins to set, we utilized one of these adapters and found the experience to be much more enjoyable.  

This adapter is also useful if you're in a group and the eyepiece needs to be rotated to accomodate amateur astronomers who may be vertically challenged.  On our Astromaster 114 EQ, we previously had to rotate the body of the telescope for everybody in the group to be able to see Saturn in the eyepiece.  With one of these 45 degree diagonals, we were instead able to rotate the eyepiece to each person's height without losing the planet.  

It's always a good idea to keep one of these in your kit.  You won't need it until you need it, which is when you'll really wish you had it!
