Minox ZE5i 1-5x24 Review

The Minox ZE5i 1-5x24 has not yet been released, but we have received the Minox ZE5i 2-10x50, and managed to write a pretty comprehensive review about it.  Check it out, we expect to have a review of the Minox ZE5i 1-5x24 as soon as they arrive.

Here's what we do know about the Minox ZE5i 1-5x24:

All the ZE5i rifle scopes are made in Wetzlar, Germany.  The ZE5i 1-5x24 has a 30mm main body tube made from once piece anodized aluminum.  The ZE5i scopes ship in a custom wooden box, not unlike the high end binocular offerings from Minox.  Unlike the ZA5 and ZV3 lines, a scopecoat or bikini covers are not included.  You can request one of either the Scopecoat or bikini cover for free from Minox when registering your product for the warranty.  This is an added benefit in that you won't forget to register your product if you really want the accessories to protect your scope.

The turrets feature a reindexing feature similar to that found on the ZA5 rifle scope line, but differing just enough to be a slight improvement over the existing system.  If the turrets are the same as the unit we tested, we expect them to provide excellent audible and tactile feedback.

The side illumination knob includes a dual battery compartment that holds a spare battery for backup, a crucial feature on a dangerous game scope that is designed to see action in Africa.  The illumination knob has 11 illumination settings, with an off position between each setting so you can always be one click away from your preferred brightness.  

Our initial look at the ZE5i rifle scope line was promising, and we expect nothing short of excellence from the Minox ZE5i 1-4x24.
