The ZA5 3-15x50 is built well, utilizing the same one piece aluminum construction as other scopes in the ZA5 lineup, making it waterproof and fogproof. The build quality of ZA5 rifle scopes rival that of the more well known scopes available. The optics on this scope are extremely clear. Fine detail is excellent from 3x to 15x, and chromatic aberration is well controlled throughout the magnification range, although it is slightly more noticable at 15x. Rolling ball is, for some reason or another, very visible at the lowest magnification, but disappears somewhere between 5x and 10. This scope is great for larger calibers, but the side focus goes down to 25 yards which makes it just as suitable for rimfires.
The glass in ZA5 scopes is getting a lot of attention, and is being compared to glass found in scopes at a much higher price.
The XR-BDC reticle found on this scope is used for bullet drop compensation. For information on measuring bullet drop for your caliber, click the link below on reticle subtensions.
