Celestron Elements InfiniSun Portable Solar Panel Review

A rechargable solar panel with built in battery.  Seems simple enough.

Picture this.  You've spent the last week backpacking in a national forest, tent camping and roughing it, when the worst happens.  A member of your party gets hurt, needs medical attention, or the entire group needs rescue.  Every phone in the group ran out of battery power on day three.  What do you do?

You tell the group to stay calm, pull the Celestron InfiniSun out of your backpack, and plug in your phone.  Rescue is on the way.

Sure, it's a scenario that may never happen, but it's better to be prepared than to not.  If you're more comfortable on your boat, camping in a public campsite, or touring the country on your motorcycle, the Celestron InfiniSun is still a great piece of kit to throw into your gear bag. Built smaller and lighter than most tablet PCs, the InfiniSun takes up very little space.  A 6000 mAh battery is enough to fully charge most modern smartphones for those times when the weather doesn't want to cooperate.

The InfiniSun is another Celestron Elements product that impresses immediately, regardless of how simple it really is.  This solar panel has already taken the place of a much larger (and non-portable) solar panel on my small fishing boat.

  • Slim design fits easily into a backpack or glove compartment
  • Can be charged via USB or using solar panel

Celestron’s innovative InfiniSun solar panel and charger includes a robust 6000 mAh rechargeable battery capable of charging smartphones, iPods, tablets, and more. InfiniSun is a must-have for camping trips, travel, emergency kits, and more. Enjoy your devices worry-free, knowing you can recharge them anytime with clean, solar energy.

When InfiniSun’s battery runs low, plug it into any USB port to charge it with your computer of AC adapter. Or, supplement InfiniSun’s battery charge by placing it in a bright area with unobstructed sunlight. When not in use, InfiniSun is compact enough to fit into a glove compartment or backpack, so extra power is always within reach.
