You don't normally see illuminated scopes under $100, simply because it's difficult for manufacturers to combine adequate glass and electronics into a quality scope at that price. The result is usually a product that neither illuminates or magnifies very well. The Trueview 3-9x40 scope is an admittedly risky product in times where the scope market is very competitive.
Construction quality is comparable to that of scopes in the $100 - $200 range. The 1 inch body is anodized aluminum, and like the Konig line, has aluminum turret covers and 1/4" clicks. There is no zero stop feature, but the windage and elevation adjustments do have the tight affirmative "click" when adjusting. The illumination knob is located on the left side of the scope, and 11 brightness settings range from barely visible in darkness to completely visible in daylight. The 3x-9x magnification ring is tight - very tight, in fact - and the focus adjustment ring around the ocular is tight and precise.
The illuminated reticle is actually an illuminated dot in the center of a plex (30/30) reticle. The non-illuminated representation that dot is actually partially visible when the reticle is on all but the brightest setting. This isn't something most people will notice, but we thought best to mention it.
Glass quality is commendable for a scope under $100. There is a slight difference in clarity and sharpness from the Konig series of scopes, but that's completely understandable given the difference in price. Compared to other scopes at sub-$100 prices, this is a great value.
The Bresser Trueview IR rifle scope is perfect for hunting. Each Trueview IR has an adjustable brightness IR dot reticle that can be adjusted to any light conditions and a fast focus adjustment for quick target acquisition. The Trueview IR is waterproof, shockproof, and constructed with a hard anodized coating that will handle years of use.
