Aimtech Systems 3 Inch Laser Target

The 3" Laser Target is a simple, portable, stand alone target that provides an audible "beep" when hit with a training laser.  The size and light weight design of the target allows you to place the target just about anywhere in your home or office.  Add multiple targets and create transitional drills and multiple threat scenarios.  Now you can safely practice drawing from a holster or concealed carry and transitioning to multiple targets without the cost of ammunition and driving to the range.

The 3 Inch Target can be operated in any lighting condition including indoor lighting and direct sunlight at distances greater than 300 feet.  Power is controlled by the touching the Power symbol on the front of the target face. The target will beep when it is energized. Touching the panel for 2 seconds turns the target off (the target will beep when it turns off). The target will automatically shut down 4 hours after the last shot is detected.

The 3 Inch Target only detects a modulated laser. Constant on lasers are ignored by the target. This allows you to use aiming lasers without effecting the operation of the 3 Inch Target. Laser detection can achieved at distances greater than 300 feet.

The 3 Inch Target is very sensitive to the modulated laser. When placing the targets, care should be taken to not place the targets where the laser reflection can be detected by the target.
Example: If placing a target on a shelf, place the target at the front of the shelf. If placed at the back of the shelf, the laser may be reflected from the shelf into the target face causing false hits.

The 3 Inch Target is powered by 3 AAA batteries. Typical battery life is approximately 300 hours of continuous use. To access the batteries, remove the phillips head screws that retain the back cover. The power touch switch is calibrated when the batteries are replaced. To ensure proper touch switch sensitivity, do not let the touch switch come in contact with anything when the batteries are installed.

Virtual Shot Timer

The capability of the Laser Marksman 3" target is expandable because it is equipped with an IR transmitter that allows the target to be used with the Laser Marksman Virtual Shot Timer.  When paired with the Virtual Shot Timer now you will get shot timing data to use to challenge and measure your training progress. 

Accuracy

Most transitional and speed shooting is done on steel so you can hear your shot impact the target.  This allows for much faster confirmation then waiting and looking for a light to come on confirming a hit.  Watching top shooters they are already moving on to their next target too fast to wait for a visual confirmation which is why we chose an audible beep instead of a light to indicate a hit.  We also wanted to ensure that you were actually on target when the target was hit so we utilize a very short laser on time and require the target to see a minimum amount of that laser to register a hit.  If the laser was on for a longer duration as with other laser targets on the market, you could fire off target and then move on target after the shot was taken and still activate the target falsely, providing negative training.
